The IIMA campus is described as imposing and enduring, but more than that, it embodies the three principles of IIMA's educational philosophy: critical thinking, orientation to real life, and active intellectual self-reliance. Spaces for discussion and interaction are as important as classrooms. In 1962, when renowned architect Louis Kahn began work on the campus, this was a revolutionary concept. Few people know that Kahn incorporated sustainability into his designs 60 years ago. The IIMA campus is a place where history is linked to life with its gardens, trails, playground, state-of-the-art sports facilities, performance area, meditation nooks, and cafes; the campus provides outlets for all sorts of interests and abilities. It is a lived environment whose purpose is to turn out leaders who will change the world.
