Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria and Application - In addition to the usual number of seats for 2026-28 PGP Batch, 10% extra seats are reserved for foreign nationals.
The applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification (from at least a three year programme) with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA/Grades from a recognized university/institute after at least 12 years of school education.
The minimum eligibility score for applying is 700 for the GMAT Exam in previous format, and 645 for the GMAT Focus Edition. Also, Integrated Reasoning (IR) score of the applicants who have taken the GMAT Exam in previous format should be greater than or equal to 5 (five). The GMAT Exam in previous format should have been taken after December 31, 2020. Fulfilling the eligibility criteria does not guarantee an invitation to a personal interview.
Important Note: Foreign nationals (foreign passport holders) staying even in India must take the test-centre administered GMAT Focus Edition OR GMAT Exam in previous format and apply through this (Supernumerary Quota) category only.
Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee of US$ 200 or equivalent INR at the exchange rate prevailing on the day of transfer can be remitted through an electronic/online transfer. Expenses
The programme fee is US$ 50,000 for the PGP 2025-27 Batch (inclusive of tuition fees). The programme fee does not cover personal expenses on boarding, laptop computer, travel, clothes, stationery, laundry, etc. All students are required to have a personal computer. The Institute can also arrange to buy this locally.
The programme fee for future batches will be announced later.
Application Process
Our admission procedure for Supernumerary Quota begins on October 1, 2025. Please fill in the online application form The deadline for filling the online application form is December 31, 2025.
Selection Process
A committee will look into the applications and will prepare a shortlist of candidates to be invited for personal interview. An interview invitation does not guarantee admission. Interview invitations will be sent via email. All invited applicants will be interviewed over remote video conferencing. Final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in GMAT, performance in AWT and/or PI, academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience etc.
The Admissions Committee would like to know you on both a professional and personal level. We encourage you to be introspective, candid, and succinct and most importantly be yourself.
1) Essays
The applicants are required to complete the following set of essay questions.
Part 1: What career/role are you planning to pursue and why? (200-250 words)
Part 2: How PGP in Management of IIM Ahmedabad could help you in achieving your career goals? (200-250 words)
Part 3: How do you see yourself contributing to the IIM Ahmedabad community? (200-250 words)
2) Optional Section for All Applicants
Please feel free to explain any extenuating circumstances (e.g., significant gaps in work experience, choice of recommenders, or poor academic performance). (250 words).
3) Transcripts
Transcripts of all academic degrees/diplomas are required to be submitted along with the application. Grades or marks may be self-reported. Originals are required to be produced at the time of admission.
4) Letters of Recommendation
Two letters of recommendation are required to be sent to the Admissions Office (e-mail address: admission@iima.ac.in) directly by the recommenders on/before December 31, 2025 with a subject line stating "Recommendation Letter for .................... (name of the applicant and application no.)". Preferably, one of these should be written by a current supervisor or manager. The second one should be from someone who is in a position to evaluate the applicant's professional performance as well as his/her managerial and leadership potential. No letter of recommendation should be written by immediate family members, e.g. parents, grandparents, siblings and spouse.
Programme Fee
The PGP programme fee is US$ 50,000.
The fee includes tuition, course material, and board and lodging. All students are required to have a personal computer and a printer. The Institute can also arrange for buying these locally.
The programme fee does not cover personal expenses such as travel, clothes, stationery, and laundry.
