Kanchan Jansari (1956- ) worked with the IIMA Administration from 1977 till her retirement in 2016 as Materials Reproduction Officer (MRO). Born and educated in Ahmedabad, she joined IIMA as a Lower Division Clerk (LDC)-Typist in July 1977 in the Research & Publications (R&P) department. She soon moved to the Housekeeping Office (1978-79), then to the Vikalpa office in the Publication Division (1980-87) and finally to the Case Unit in the Publication Division (1988-2016). Between 2012 and 2016, she was the "SC/ST Liaison Officer" for staff matters and member of the Grievances Redressal Committee. Post-retirement, she continued to work with IIMA on a contractual basis, first for seven months with the Publication department, then with HR Office for a digitization project in 2017 and from January 2018, as Project Head of the IIMA Archives Project. In this interview, she recounts her upbringing, reason to join IIMA, typing intricacies for the R&P, Vikalpa and Case Units, mentors, staff union activities, and personal growth during her career.
