Dr. Anand S Dhawle served as the Librarian from 1st September 1967 to 28th February 1990.

Dr. Dhawle completed his BA from the University of Delhi in 1951 after which he attained a Diploma in Library Sciences in 1952. In 1967, he attained a Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of Pittsburg in 1967.

He began work in 1952 as a Technical Assistant in the library at the Delhi University. He also worked as the Assistant Librarian with the Central Archeological Library in New Delhi till 1962. Later, he joined the Office of the High Commissioner for Canada in India, New Delhi. The job as Librarian at the High Commission resulted in his going to Canada between 1946 and 1966 where he worked as a Cataloguer in the University of Toronto Library.

In 1967, Dr. Dhawle joined IIMA as the Librarian of the Vikram Sarabhai Library where he spend the next 23 years serving the Institution.
