Professor T K Moulik worked in the Centre for Management in Agriculture from 23rd October 1974 to 5th August 1994.
He obtained his BSc in Agriculture from Kolkata University in 1957. He worked as the Agriculture Extension Officer in the Indian Department of Agriculture between 1958 and 1960. He then completed his MSc in Agriculture in 1962 from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi. Prof. Moulik then completed his PhD in 1965 from IARI. Later, he worked with several Government Institutes between 1965 and 1970 including IIPA, New Delhi; USAID, New Delhi and IARI. He also worked in the capacity of Senior Fellow at the Research School of Pacific Studies, Australian National University, Australia.
Prof. Moulik authored two PhD theses-Transfer of Technology through Foreign Collaboration: Tractor Industries in India (1979) and Transfer of Technology from Research Institution to Industries: A case of Industry in India. His publications include Biogas System: Alternative Technology for Meeting Rural Energy Needs in India (1978) and Agricultural: Managing the Agricultural Surplus (1979). Prof. Moulik has also authored several books including Money, Motivation and Cash Cropping (1973) and Bougainville in Transition (1977).
Prof. Moulik was an expert in alternative energy. He had pioneered work on alternative energy across several continents. He also received government recognition for his work in the United Nations Inter Governmental Panel on Climate Change. This work was the winner of the Noble Peace Prize in 2007.
He was an active Member of the Australian Psychology Association. Prof. Moulik was also the Founder of the India Office of Environmental Resources Management-a leading global environmental consultancy firm.
Prof. Moulik passed away at the age of 72. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
