A seminar on “Account Aggregator (AA) ecosystem as a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI): Enabling Efficiency, Productivity, and Inclusion in the Financial Sector” by Mr B. G. Mahesh, CEO, Sahamati

Abstract
The Account Aggregator (AA) ecosystem is a consent-based framework that enables individuals and small businesses to securely share their financial information across regulated financial institutions, based on explicit and informed user consent. It provides a standardized and interoperable mechanism for financial data sharing across sectors such as banking, lending, insurance, capital markets, and taxation.

By improving the availability, quality, and timeliness of data sharing, the AA framework helps reduce information asymmetries and operational friction in financial services. This enables financial institutions to design more efficient processes and offer products that are better aligned to customer risk profiles, particularly for underserved and thin-file users. The session will examine the role of AA as an emerging digital public infrastructure and discuss its implications for financial inclusion and institutional decision- making.
