We invite submissions of case proposals for a Case Writing Workshop in the Finance and Accounting Area to be held at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) in April 2026. The workshop aims to provide an opportunity to doctoral candidates, post- doctoral candidates, and faculty members and researchers (Post Ph.D., 0 to 10 years’ experience) to develop teaching cases in the field of finance and accounting, under the guidance of experienced mentors.

The workshop is organised in collaboration with Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) India.

We welcome case proposals that explore contemporary issues and decision-making challenges in the following (but not limited to) domains:

• Financial Reporting
• Financial Statement Analysis
• Cost Accounting and Control Systems
• Corporate Finance
• Financial Markets and Institutions
• Corporate Governance
• Fintech and Digital Finance
• Investment Management and Valuation
• Banking, Credit, and Financial Inclusion
• ESG Investing and Sustainable Finance
• Applications of AI and ML in Finance/Accounting

Submission Guidelines

• Interested participants are invited to submit an extended abstract (800-1000 words) that includes:
• Case Title
• Industry/Organization Context
• Decision Focus and Key Issues
• Learning Objectives
• Brief Description of Data Sources
• Teaching/Learning Relevance
• Submissions should be original, unpublished, and aligned with pedagogical objectives suitable for management education.
• Fictional cases are not accepted.
• Cases should be based on fieldwork, interviews, and internal company data. All field cases must be released for general distribution by the subject organization or protagonist by way of a Consent-to-Use Form.
• Disguised cases are accepted if the disguise is necessary and strong.

Case Writing Workshop Details

Selected authors will be invited to participate in the workshop. The resource persons for the workshop will be faculty members from IIMA and expert tutors from ACCA, who bring extensive experience in case writing and teaching with cases. Accommodation on campus during the workshop will be arranged by IIMA for one author for each accepted proposal. Participants are expected to cover their research, travel and other incidental expenses.

Awards and Publication Opportunity

Select cases developed through the workshop will be considered for publication in a special issue in Vikalpa: The Journal for Decision Makers. There will be financial awards for such cases too.
