“Invitation to Closing Ceremony of the Leadership Ecosystem Development for Character-building and Entrepreneurial Thinking”

asfShri Kunga Nima Lepcha was born in the year of metal Pig, on June 22nd 1972 to parents Late Mrs. Pemkit Lepcha and Late Mr. Chongbo Lepcha at Tathangchen, Gangtok Sikkim, in a family of six sons and three sisters. He has two sons with his late wife Mrs Choden Wangyal Lepcha and has two daughter-in-laws and a lovely granddaughter. He completed his schooling from Birla Vidhya School, Nainital, Uttarakhand, where he was judged as an over all Athletic Junior Champion of Birla Vidhya School, Nainital for two consecutive Year 1961 & 1962. He was the Senior Hockey Team Captain and represented the school in all major. During his college days he played cricket for Kalimpong, Milani Sanga. He further represented Kalimpong College Team in football from 1967 to 1971, and was a part of KSC (Kumar Sporting Club) Football team of Sikkim for Independence Day Cup at Kalimpong in 1972. He was an integral part of Kumar Sporting Club Football team ‘A’ from 1972 to 1976. He played traditional archery right from childhood to till early 2000 and was President of Sikkim Archery Association in early 1990 to 1999. He conducted Losoong Traditional Archery Tournament in memory of Late Crown Prince Tenzing Namgyal from 1982 to 1994 at Tsuglakhang Royal Chapel and Tathangchen Ground, Gangto, Sikkim. Having completed his degree in Bachelor of Arts from Kalimpong Degree College he joined the State civil service (Sikkim) and served the Government for thirty-three (33) years until his voluntary retirement, after which he joined active politics. Mr. Kunga Nima devotes his free time towards social work and lends a helping hand to those in need. He was and is still associated with many social activities including sporting and religious activities. He has also been felicitated on a number of occasions for his selfless and dedicated service.
